Saw him getting in an argument where he was mean to someone, didn't realize it was him and thought "oh an internet Cool Kid being mean for the sake of being mean" and yelled at him

I should not make assumptions about people. Like, I am not mad at myself bc I yelled at a semi-famous person, I am mad bc I assumed "this person is just cruel and not Suffering" and that was wildly wrong. And if I had been wrong about a Suffering rando instead of a semi-famous person, I would never eve have realized that I was an asshole.

In conclusion nobody should ever say anything.

to be fair I think a lot of cruel people are suffering. the degree to which that makes me sympathetic in reality, rather than just in like an abstract theoretical way, seems to vary a lot based on...factors
